Don Lalo`s Mexican Restaurant in Sulphur Springs

Food was amazing, new menu was GREAT! 3 stars because the salsa tasted like someone spilled a pound of SALT in it; and the female servers here are awful at waiting tables (not sexist - just the way they have always been at this particular restaurant. I can’t explain why, just go for yourself and see!) If it wasn’t for the servers, this would be a 5 star because the food was AMAZING!

Woah! This place just looked like another Tex-Mex restaurant but it was probably one of the better ones I've been to. There was something about the meet that was sooo good. It had a lot of flavor and it was juicy. Even the salsa was awesome. I wouild recommend this place to anyone. Also, the waiter was excellent.

Has anyone but me noticed how far back that guys thumb goes? That's weird. I bet the ladies love him. Straight to the g spot.

The foods not bad.. definitely not authentic to me. Jovany was our waiter and he was really a very sweet guy and helpful.

Fast, friendly, courteous service, but only 2 choices of meat. If you like Carnitas, or any other pork dish, you won't get it here.

What I ordered was good. And the service was good. I'm not sure what my husband ordered but he didn't care for it. Everyone I've talked to just loves it though.

Mediocre at best....not a fan at all.

Had green steak fajitas. Waitress was not sure I should eat them. Manager would not come to see the problem. Had to pay for a meal that I probably would not give to my dog.

Steak fajitas were extremely dry with no flavor.

Food was good, margaritas were good, waitres and service not so much.

Update 10-1-19: We gave it another try. We were seated in an open area and promptly waited on. We both got a house margarita, excellent!! I got Mex salad w/fajita chicken, sweetie got special/Fajita Burrito. He said it was great and mine was too. So my review has been upgraded from 2 to 5 stars.While we were there, a very drunk man came in with a woman and sat in the booth next to us. When waiter refused to serve him, he knocked glasses full of water across the room and left. Even though I got a shower, it was worth it to see them not give in to the drunk. Good job Don Lalo's!!==========Food was okay, service.....well twice they put us in an out-of-the way booth and it seemed they forgot us. We had to flag someone down to take our order, then getting a refill on tea....another wait. I ordered a smaller meal, husband ordered regular but got the smaller one. We most likely won't go back.

Low quality food, the rice and beans have no flavor, we ordered Quesadillas, Chicken taco plate and Puebla Plate. Sadly we were all disappointed with our meals. The chips and salsa were good but the salsa has no heat to it at all. The atmosphere was nice and the waiter was great. My husband enjoyed his margarita as well.

Im not a big fan of mexican cuisine but I know bad food when I taste it....and Don Lalo's is incapable of creating bad cuisine. Everything I have ever ordered here has been spiced to perfection and served in generous amounts. Quite a variety on their menu so even the pickiest of patrons can land a meal to their liking and approval. Tip hard and see what happens!!!

The food is good but it's not above average. The salsa is not so impressive, but I would go again because the options in SS are limited.

2nd time...not as good as first visit. Chicken fajitas were dried out, couldn't taste the avocado in the guacamole (mostly lemony?); flour tortillas were good. Service was mediocre; waiter was not friendly and only checked on us by saying "everything's good?" but didn't slow down for s response!!Then we saw him with bill.

The food was great. The server who brought tables chips and hot sauce was the only one who would help us with anything. I kept stopping waitress to ask for same thing, 5, 10 minutes later. Never did get a tea refill. We were a party of 6. Tipped her well anyway. Everyone has bad days.

This place is a joke. They are rude, slow and service is horrible. The food was good a few years ago but now its horrible. Dont waste your time or money here. Right down the road is Los mochis which is a 5 star...

They have an amazing drink menu! Try the Irish Trash Can 😆 The food is good and the menu has many things to choose from. The service is good as well.

Adequate Mexican food. Good service. And has alcohol. Suggest margaritas with your good.

The best Mexican food I've had. Their steak is so juicy and tasty, I am willing to drive over 100 miles for it again.

Disgusting steak mexicano ,probably the worst meal ive had in a long time and i literally had 7 eleven taquitos the other day for lunch . After all that the plate ended up being 23 dollars this place is a joke .The salsa is good though ,so if you just want salsa and a beer this is your place lol .

Never had a bad experience! I am from Michigan and I've never had chicken fried steak. On a night that chicken fried steak was the special, I had it. Absolutely amazing! I can't do grease and it was not greasy at all, the texture was abundantly crunchy still even after the frying process.The drinks are always spectacular. My favorite is the Pina Colada but they are all great!

Tried for 1st time today, and was very pleased with everything! We had fajitas and enchiladas as well as margaritas. Service was great!! Prices are competitive and decent. Will definitely return.
